Idle Hands

All Fly tyers are artists. They take different materials and meld them together into something else, using tools and their hands in the hopes to see the final outcome that they have in their mind . Even if you are a beginner who is merely copying a pattern from a book, you are unknowingly putting your own spin on it. Even if its something as simple as the way you wrap your thread, in your mind you are creating. With that being said, many tyers are also artists in other ways. Everywhere you look you will see paintings, drawings, sculptures and more; all related to the passion that we enjoy behind a vise. I myself have all sorts of “idle hands” projects going on. Between cross stitch, crochet, drawing, watercolor and a vast array of different things I enjoy; I hope some of these will inspire you to try something new to expand your creativity.
